Smoothwall to use Augmented Reality to display hidden threats whilst surfing the web at Bett 2017
With Bett 2017 fast approaching, preparations are well under way behind the scenes at Smoothwall to make it our biggest year yet!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Bett, it’s the UK’s leading education technology show attended by over 34,500 educators and decision makers from around the world, all looking to seek the latest and most innovative information technology within Education.
Bett will be held at the ExCel London and will run from 25th to 28th January 2017.
This year on Stand C381, Smoothwall will be delivering a series of online safety and safeguarding sessions, with an array of educational specialist speakers and safeguarding professionals on hand to discuss the latest information and advice on how to keep children safe online, as well as making your 2017 safeguarding obligations clearer.
A full list of our speakers can be found on our Bett web page. We’re also very excited this year to include an interactive zone which uses Augmented Reality to educate the audience on hidden threats that exist when using the internet.
You’ll need to be on the lookout for some naughty Rascals lurking about… Make sure you stay tuned on Twitter and our website for sneak peeks of what's to come and our #SmoothwallClassof17.
Claire Stead, Head of Marketing at Smoothwall commented:
"The stand is the most exciting yet for Smoothwall. We wanted to make it as interactive as possible so that it appeals to all ages, but it was important to keep the theme of internet safety. There will be a chance to get your hands on some exciting freebies too, so make sure you pay us a visit!"
Bett 2017 will also see Smoothwall launch a new monitoring product which will help schools not only meet, but exceed expectations of appropriate monitoring set out in the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016 legislation.
The launch will take place at 11am on Wednesday 25th January and will include an introduction from Smoothwall’s Monitoring Specialist, Ben Jones, along with live demos and a free goodie bag.
"I’m really excited to introduce Smoothwall’s new monitoring product. Smoothwall is committed to helping schools, colleges and universities to be confident in every aspect of safeguarding, and to fully understand how changes to Government and Ofsted policies affect their safeguarding obligations. I’d definitely encourage people to attend at least one talk to pick up valuable advice that will help them to exceed the recently implemented safeguarding legislation."
